With a commitment to ethical standards and evidence-based interventions, we foster independence, community, and engagement. We currently offer a stimulating day program for people with dementia, and education classes, support groups, and consultation for caregivers.
Role Description
Driver safely operates our 15-passenger van while transporting groups during outings and ensuring day program participants are safely returned to their residence at the end of the day. The driver is responsible for helping passengers enter and exit the van, assisting with buckling/unbuckling safety belts, stowing mobility aids, walking with passengers to/from their front door, and ensuring all personal belongs stay with the passenger.

Shifts
- Monday - Friday leaving Dementia Enrichment Center at 4pm and returning at the end of the route (approximately 5:30pm, depending on the number of passengers each day.)
- Driving for daytime outings one or two days each week, typically departing Dementia Enrichment Center around 10:30am or 1:00pm and returning within 2-3 hours.
Qualifications
- Current Texas drivers license (No special endorsements are necessary)
- Spotless driving record with no violations or accidents within the last five (5) years
- Ability to safely operate and park a 15-passenger van
- Experience or willingness to learn about the unique needs of individuals with dementia
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test
- Positive attitude, helpful demeanor, and demonstrated patience
- Commitment to the Dementia Enrichment Center's model of care that emphasizes dignity, quality of life, and compassion
